Cravings “Waist Watchers” mini cheesecakes

Update 20060125: Cravings now has their own website: www.cravingscheesecakes.com . There’s even a copy of this blog posting on their message board page. I recommend that you comment on their guestbook instead of this page, since they’re much more likely to respond over there!

Update 20050324: There’s a Canadian Food Inspection Agency alert out on the Cravings and Zarky’s Waist Watchers products; people with allergic reactions to soy protein should read http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/corpaffr/recarapp/2005/20050310e.shtml.

I can’t believe that a Google search doesn’t turn up information on these things; they’re sinfully delicious! (Update: it does now :-)

A company called “Cravings” in Perth, Ontario (near Belleville; about 1.5 hours east of Toronto) makes a product called “Waist Watchers”; they’re mini cheesecakes with various flavour toppings. Each one is 60g, with 56.6 calories and 0.6 grams of fat, which makes them 1 Weight Watchers point each.

They’re delicious. The only complaint I have is that one isn’t enough :-). At only a point each, having two isn’t excessive. They’re light and airy; they appear to have come up with a mixture that captures many tiny air bubbles, allowing them to have the texture and flavour of cheesecake without a zillion calories.

Even better, the product isn’t packed full of chemicals; The product is made from: fruit, cheese, skim milk, flour, canola oil, egg whites, pineapple juice, lemon juice, cornstarch, baking soda, sugar, gelatin, flavouring, and colour.

Update 2005/05/18: There has been some confusion recently about the nutritional data for these products. I’m not an expert, but my understanding is that the data is allowed to be estimated, and (more importantly) is allowed to be rounded. So a product with “100 calories” can, in fact, contain anywhere from 76 to 125 calories :-). Both of these can easily explain why the nutrition data is the same for all variants of the product.

I highly recommend them. Flavours in the store today: Cherry, Rasberry, Blueberry, Lemon, Lime, and Chocolate. They’re all good! The chocolate is mixed through, and is more like chocolate mousse than cheesecake; the lemon is like lemon meringue pie :-). The company has recently introduced the Cravings Waist Watchers Chocolate Fix; I haven’t tried them, but reports from others are positive…

They are available at “Reid’s Dairy” and “Almost Perfect” stores in Southern Ontario; check the comments below for other locations, and if you know of others make sure you add to the list.

Cravings, PO Box 20053, Belleville ON K8P 5V1. (613) 264-8095

Update 2003/11/11:: Tanya (see comments) was able to obtain Craving’s phone number, which is (613) 264-8095. They will apparently take down your contact information and let you know about distributors in your area. If you do call them, please report back here so that other people can find them too. Thanks!

  1. I too just searched on Google and just came up here. A friend told me about them and they are AMAZING! You can get them in Burlington at a place called Mary Lou’s Market (New Street/Walkers). Not sure where they might be available in Oakville where I am, but it’s worth the drive, at 1 Weight Watchers point, you just won’t beleive it! 5 STARS!

  4. I have joined the cheesecake bandwagon. They are incredible and if anyone at weight watchers knew about them, the stores would be sold out, so I’m not telling anyone! Where can I get them in the Toronto or Richmond Hill area other than Simply Perfect?

  5. There’s a “Reid’s Dairy” on the north side of Lawrence, just east of Warden, and an “Almost Perfect” Store at the Allen Rd. and Eglinton.

I recommend canada411 (http://www.canada411.ca/); searching in the Business listings will give you the addresses of Reid’s Dairy and Almost Perfect stores (that’s how I found my local Reid’s Dairy).

  7. I love these treats, too! I know you can also get them at any Zarky’s location in Hamilton, ON.

  8. To Jennifer from Alabama:

Cravings appears to be a small, Southern Ontario company; the cheescakes are only available in a small number of stores here. I suppose you could write to them and find out…

  9. One of the ladies at our WeightWatchers meeting told us about these last week, then brought one in for me yesterday (she found them in Cobourg). I cannot believe something so yummy could only be worth 1 point! Wherever they are sold, they must fly off the shelves within seconds. Does anyone know where to find them in Ottawa or the surrounding area? PS: thanx, Google, for the info!

  10. I just love the cravings treats – In Kingston, Ontario we can usually get them at Reids Dairy – but they fly off the shelves quickly. I wish they were available in more locations – the Cravings people have a little gold mine – It’s hard to believe they are worth only 1 point in WeightWatcher.

  12. The cheesecakes are amazing, they have become my best freind in my journey through weightloss. I carry them in my store called Diamonds Fine Foods in Richmond Hill. So you can imagine my dilemma owning a Deli style store and trying to loose weight at the same time! I have many other “points” prepared foods, like chicken spinach loaf that is only 3points per serv and is out of this world! They litterally fly off the shelf! And we make zero point coleslaw and other salads. Magic muffins – 1 point each, they are so filling you can only eat half at a time, we do 1 point crepes and 1 point waffles too! I just started carrying KETO products – for the people who are on low carb diets. MORE… 0 point soups – mushroom, garden veg, squash, cauli and broc. I am working on a lot of new recipies and will be bringing them out in the fall. Since summer is here and many of my customers are away, I don’t keep fully stocked with all the items, I prefer to take orders for some of the items, for example, the soups, the chicken loafs and salads are always available, for crepes and waffles, I prefer to take orders 24 hrs in advance. I’m located at Bayview and Weldrick in Bruno’s Plaza, come on in and we’ll have a nice chat! If I’m not there, you can always talk to Moishe my chef.

  15. I too made my way here after doing a google. I love them! I just tried the key lime one today, and it is really really good! The only one I haven’t been nuts about is the chocolate one – I found it a bit bitter. Maybe it would have tasted better if I had let it thaw first, LOL!

I get mine in Markham, ON at Reid’s Dairy.

I buy mine at Zarky’s or at the Hamilton Hospital’s cafeteria in Hamilton. Love them but can’t seem to find a distributor in Waterloo, ON. I’ll keep you posted if I do!

  21. Hi there everyone. I was able to obtain the phone number of the manufacturer of the Cravings cheesecakes which is 613-264-8095. I asked where they distribute the cheesecakes and they took my email and will contact me with the closest location to Waterloo/Kitchener. I would suggest calling them (were very nice)and they will be glad to tell you where the closest location is.

  23. I just called 612-264-8095. They are currently based in Perth, ON. They will be launching a website shortly. Something similar to http://www.cravingscheesecake…;
You can call this number and they will provide stores in your area.

They will be launching new products such as:
    - Chocolate bars
    - Date squares
    - Dips (herb, sundried tomato, etc)

If you are in the Ottawa area, the cheesecakes are available at Sobey’s in Barrhaven.

  26. I just had another fabulous Cravings product from my local “Almost Perfect” store…it was called “Chocolate Fix” and it was INCREDIBLE! It is 2 WW points, but well worth it for the chewy, fudgy, oatmeal-coconut rush. If you like chocolate macaroons, (and who doesn’t?) get your Cravings supplier to order this product.

  29. I’ve tried the Chocolate Fix bars and they are delicious! Only thing is, they just made them smaller and the store where I buy them still charges the same amount. That threw me off a bit. I love the key lime and chocolate ones, but wasn’t fussy on the lemon. I’m in the Lindsay, ON area and I get mine in our local Value Plus store, and just north of Oshawa at the White Feather Country Market on Simcoe St.

  35. White Feather, Raglan, Ontario just north of Oshawa on Simcoe Rd. has all of Cravings offerings. My favourite is Chocolate Fix!!!! What a treat! In my area, Almost Perfect and Reids, do not carry Chocolate Fix only White Feather and they seem to never run out. For $1.39 each and only 2 points you can’t beat it. Does anyone know if we can buy them direct from Cravings? Like by the carton? Many of my WW colleagues would be interested.

  39. I buy “Cravings” at IGA in Newcastle. They are great!! The have a new product that looks like a little chocolate brownie in a small retangular plastic container. It has 110 calories and 1.6 grams of fat (it also contains sugar, so not for diabetics). It is like having a fuggie coconut square. It is delicious. It costs the same as the cheesecakes.

  40. I live in Ottawa and I just tried my first “Cravings” cheesecake. Although I was skeptical, it was delicious. I want more! So, I called the Distributor for the Ottawa area and was told that this product is carried in the Sobey’s, Barhaven, as well as in the Loeb, Glebe store. Apparently, all Loeb stores will be stocking this product within about 2-3 weeks. Market Fresh stores in Ottawa will also be restocking this product in the next few weeks through a different distributor. Available flavours are: cherry, raspberry, blueberry, key-lime, lemon, black forest, peach, strawberry and amaretto. I was told that the chocolate will likely be discontinued due to a problem with them going sour. The amaretto will likely also be discontinued since it is not very popular. Also available is a Chocolate fix bar worth 2pts on the Weight Watchers program. Can’t wait to try that! Enjoy!

  44. I called Cravings today and they said they are launching a new dip called “Skinny Dip” to their line. She said that they are just finalizing the labelling right now.

She also told me that anyone that carries any of the Cravings products (like Reid Dairy) can order the Chocolate Fix and the dip when it comes out. This is good news to know. I’m going to talk to our local Reids and see what they can do.

  47. We have just recently tried these cheesecakes and they are delicious.
We bought them at the Market Fresh in Kanata, they are also avaiable in at the Market Fresh in Orleans. The store in Kanata didn’t have the chocolate. They must be good as Arnie isn’t a big desert eater but he loves these cheesecakes. As we are both on Weight Watchers you don’t feel guilty eating them. Cristine & Arnie in Kanata

  48. Attn. Ottawa cheesecake lovers: Save your money – don’t buy Cravings cheesecakes from the Market Fresh at St. Laurent – I’ve tried them a couple of times and they’re pasty and/or expired. Perhaps they’re not properly refrigerated? Supplies at Sobey’s Barhaven and Loeb Glebe are markedly better — no complaints there.

If you know of a similar recipe, I’d love to see it.

  53. I love the original cravings, the only problem is that I went to the Taste of Country store in Belleville and purchased 14 of the cravings to my despair I got to work and went to have my treat and there was no crust ingredient on my dish I found it very rich and was quite upset to find that they have taken the crust off of the cheesecake. I now find the dessert very rich and not as filling. I was informed that they did this to focus on the low carb diets. I am following the W/W diet and purchase alot of these cravings , I also work with people that purchase a lot of the desserts. Please bring back the Original Cravings as they are the best and we will return to purchasing our favorite treats

  56. I just had my favourite weekend treat and to my shock – the crust was not there. I never really knew what I like about the dessert I just knew I LOVED them and spend about $50 per week on them to the annoyance of my husband. I have to be a lifelong dieter for health reasons and finally I found something I could parttake of and they change it. I reduced my intake for the last 3 weeks because I’m on a low carb diet and only treat myself on weekends – I am shocked to discover they have messed with the product and now I know the crust adds a lot to the dessert itself. Why can’t they have 2 versions? Why would anyone mess with such a sucessful product? My Reids Diary can’t keep the desserts on the shelf. I now know the staff by name and they ensure they keep my stock on hand after running out one day and me blowing a gasket. Bring back the original!!

I have been eating two almost every day (at lunch and dinner) and have managed to lose 74 lbs – in 14 months… along with working out. they recently decided to make them without the crust and I don’t like that part. 59. I’d like to know what cheesecakes don’t have a crust. I too bought 10 and brought them home to discover they were crustless. I thought they had made a mistake. I went to another store in Ottawa that sold them and found some with crust, but I don’t like them without the crust and probably won’t buy them for myself anymore just for that reason. My son loves them, with or without the crust so I may keep buying some for him. Too bad they didn’t have a website so we could voice our displeasure.

  60. I love Cravings Cheesecakes, with or without crumbs. I use the cheesecakes and the fixes as my sole treats. I have lost 85 lbs in less than one year. But, for anyone who was upset with no crumbs. I have spoken to the manufacturer and they have listened to our concerns and put the crumbs back in. THE CRUMBS ARE BACK!

  64. THE THE CRUMBS MUST BE PUT BACK. These crummy little gems are nothing without them. I’d like to know where in the Scarborough/Toronto area (other than Reid’s Dairy) you can get the flavours ‘black forest, peach, strawberry’ mentioned in a previous posting. The Reid’s I go to doesn’t carry these or the Chocolate Fix bars. Also, how do you get in touch with the Cravings people ? They need to hear from more of us about our likes/dislikes. And whatever happened to the chocolate cheesecake ? I don’t understand how there could possibly be enough of a manufacturing problem that would force them to stop making it – of all the flavours WHY THE CHOCOLATE !!!!

  65. Wow- can’t believe I’ve found an Internet community of Waist Watchers’ cheesecake lovers who are equally as addicted as I am! So, did you all type “Cravings” into google just to see what came up? Ok here’s my question… Anyone know of a similar low calorie, low fat dessert, because these cheesecake are just way too good to be true. I’ve also lost weight (about 30 pounds), following a Weight Watchers style diet and it’s due, in part, to this satisfaction of my sweet tooth without the excess calories and fat. As for the no crumbs issue, I must say that I’m disappointed. The reason that I came across this website was in searching for Craving’s number (which you nice folks have conveniently posted for me) so I could complain. Well it seems that many people are in agreement here, so hopefully Cravings will re-introduce their delicious crust, which tastes even better when you heat the cheesecake in the microwave for a few seconds. Yum yum.. getting hungry just thinking about it.

  69. I am really upset that the graham wafer base has been removed. I love the cheesecakes with them and I am not so keen on them now. The base really added a wonderful taste. Put it back!! I have to think twice about buying them anymore. Just not the same.

  70. Hey, great news!!! I just contacted the “Cravings” office at 613-264-8095 and the BASE is BACK. Numerous complaints had been received about the removal of the graham base, so they put it back in as of early December. Hooray!! Enjoy!

  71. I just tried these cheesecakes last week. WOOHOO they are yummy! I’ve had the raspberry, blueberry, cherry and key lime. (I didn’t like the key lime very much) But the others-TO DIE FOR. The crust was indeed there! I bought them at Loeb’s on Merivale Rd, in Ottawa. (Nepean) I’m going to keep a look out for the Chocolate Fix as well!!! Thank Goodness for these Cravings Cheesecakes!!!

  72. I love the cheesecakes too but they are so hard to find! I live in Ottawa and came across them one day in Sobey’s but haven’t seen them since. Then I found them in a store in North Gower and so far they still keep them. Is there any place in Ottawa (preferably Orleans) that still sells them?

  73. I am sad to see that there is not more respect being paid to the ‘chocolate fix’ cravings!!! These little treats have created a movement in my circle of friends! We litterally can’t go more than a few days without having one. A strong craving for a ‘chocolate fix’ prompted me to google the delicious treat! If youre’ a chocolate lover, dear GOD, go get yourself a “Chocolate Fix.” Just be warned..once it hits your lips….

  74. Does anyone know if these products contain some type of addictive drug? they are definatly way too good, I just finished my second chocolate craving of the day. They are 80 grams of heaven. I like them even better than actual chocolate bars now. My only concern is that I may have an unhealthy obsession with this product, but judging by this website…i am not alone! Long live cravings, and I am thrilled to hear that the crust is back!

    Comment by Laura — 1/25/2005 @ 1:27 am

  75. I’ve wondered the same thing, Laura – I ate several (I’m ashamed to say how many) for months, until I couldn’t take the guilt of spending so much money on them. I gave them up for sugar-free jello, deciding to treat myself to a cheesecake from time to time. The last few I’ve had have really turned me off. I think they were old – the fruit had gone funny and the cream cheese was breaking up a bit. Sometimes you’ll see a yellowish line between the cherry filling and the creamy cheesecake part (am I turning anyone off here?). Not pretty. The strawberry ones are uniformly deelish, ‘tho more mousse-y than cheesecakey. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like being obsessed about a particular food, and these cheesecakes really had that power over me for a long time. But man, they were sooooo good!

  76. I just phoned cravings to ask if new flavors are ever going to being introduced. The person who answered the phone said that cravings actually has many different flavours like apple pie, pumpkin and more which I cannot remember. Unfortunatly, she also informed me that she cannot come out with these flavours as the distributers won’t carry them because they belive there is not enough of a demand for them. If you are like me and want to see more flavours, the people from cravings suggested we write a letter to the distributers. I think the one near me is called Zarky foods. I am not sure there number but if anyone knows it, I would be most appreciative. I don’t know about you, but I would LOVE to try an apple pie cheesecake.

But someone else posted about this and I have to agree – the black forest cheesecakes go sour. My husband and I have found 3 that were sour. But that does not turn me off of these babies! The berry ones are my favorites anyway…

I just went to the store to buy my usual cheesecakes and they have added a new nutrition strip to the package saying they contain glucose, fructose hydrogenated oils etc, im a little upset about this considering i loved the fact that they were natural with no sugars or trans fats! whats going on???

  85. The CFIA is recalling this product for incorrect labelling of an alergen… beware! http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/corpaffr/recarapp/2005/20050310e.shtml

    Comment by Larry — 3/24/2005 @ 3:13 pm

  86. I tried calling today regarding the new nutritional information but the owner will not be back until Monday. I am very upset about the addition of sugar and hydrogenated fat. I really hope this is just a result of a new recipe and that these cheesecakes didn’t contain these ingredients before as well and that maybe they lied on the package as I have been giving them to my parents, one of whom is a diabetic, and the other, who has a heart condition. The only reason this entered my mind is because, although the ingredients changed, the amount of fat, calories and carbohydrates in each serving remained the same. This was also the case when they took out the crumbs on the bottom – don’t you think the carbohydrate count should have decreased, even if only by one gram? Additionally, the chocolate fixes seem to be improperly labelled as well. I’m not going to get into the whole process of how to figure it out, but nurtrition sciences is my field of study and work and the numbers just don’t add up like they are supposed to which really makes me wonder. I will try calling the main office again on Monday and get the story straight!

    Comment by Tiffany — 3/30/2005 @ 10:30 am

  87. I spoke to Cravings myself about crumbs and nutritional values. The girl or lady I talked to, told me before they changed the labels and had no crumbs, they wanted feedback from their customers, which they got and the crumbs were returned. They didn.t have to change the nutritional values right away. Apparently you can overstate your nutritional values but you can’t understate them. Anyway, thank god the crumbs are back. If you want less carbs, just don’t eat the crumbs. That’s what my daughter does. She’s on low carb diet. Works great for her.

  88. Went into google to confirm the calories in this treat…found this site and was surprised to see how many of us love them and need to spread the word. Comment by Deb — 4/21/2005 @ 1:07 pm

  90. I’ve been buying the Waist Watchers Chocolate Fix at Reid’s Dairy in Whitby; however, I was just on the Weight Watchers web sight and there was a recipe for these declicious morsals from a woman who lives in the Belleville area where they are made. I tried the recipe today and they are almost exactly the same.
1c white sugar, 1c splenda, 1/2c butter (I used margarine), 5 tbsp unsweetend cocoa, 1/2c 1% milk, 1/2tsp. vanilla, 2 cups of quick cook oats, 1c shredded coconut. Combine all ingredients except oats and coconut in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and stir over heat for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in the coconut and oats. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper, allow to cool. 40 servings, estimated Weight Watchers points – 1
The actual Chocolate Fix is 80g per serving and considered 2 points.
I put them in the freezer once they have cooled and they are amazing!
I purchased the ingredients from Bulk Barn Foods because I can then buy as much as I need and its not expensive. The Chocolate Fix sells for $1.39 each and I will probally get 4 batches for $7.50.

  91. LOVE this product!!!!! The Chocolate Fix is really good too.Actually Weight Watchers has a recipe that’s very similar but with Splenda & alot more oatmeal. I found them at the Loeb in Orleans,Ontario. I buy 50 at a time & stick some in the freezer. Thanks for posting their phone number, my friends want to try & buy a crate of them!!!!

  92. I love these products as well. I do have a question though. Can it be possible that each flavour has the exact same nutritional information? No adjustment for different fruit (some would need more sugar than others)
Just wondering if anyone else thought this?

    Comment by Marilyn — 5/18/2005 @ 11:48 pm

  93. I actually phoned regarding this. The owner told me that when they created this product with a nutritonist, they took the nutritional value of whatever flavour (the ones with the jelly on top) had the most. She said flavours like keylime and strawberry only have 1-2 calories less then the ones with the tops. I do not know how that is possible, but that was the information I was given. Any professionals here who could back that up?

    Comment by melanie — 5/27/2005 @ 7:54 pm

  94. I am in love with the Cravings Chocolate Fix and the cheesecakes especially lemon which tastes just like lemon meringue pie, and blueberry and raspberry cheesecake. The chocolate cheesecake is really more of a chocolate mousse and not as sweet and i like sweet! I didn’t like the Keylime as it wasn’t sweet enough for me.
I can’t believe the calories either.

I am just starting weight watchers and am so lucky to find about these early on so I don’t blow it by eating chocolate bars or something. I bought all mine as soon as I heard about them from Reid’s Dairy in Richmond Hill. It’s just off Yonge St. between 16th (Hillcrest Mall) and Major Mackenzie. I don’t remember the exact address but there was a KFC and Subway in the same plaza (just SOuth of Weston Produce plaza and Nando’s chicken. It’s on the East side of Yonge St. Anyways, they seem to have all of the flavours in abundance all the time. And if you buy 6 or more you get a small discount but it adds up when you spend $60 there every 2 weeks.

My boyfriend is eating them now too, even though he has the leanest most muscular body – he can eat the real thing – so now it costs me twice as much. I haven’t tried the WW Just 2 Points bars because they are so expensive.

Another thing I have tried lately for all you Weight Watchers buffs is “French Twists”. They are like a Churrito but harder a hard flaky sweet pastry and only 60 calories each and 2 point. It even advertises Weight Watchers on the box, for those of ou that want something more like pastry and crunchy. I buy them at Costco – I just noticed them 2 weeks ago and have bought 2 boxes since then. They have 2 packs of raspberry (amazing) and 1 pack of maple in each box and probably about 24-30 twists total for about $7.00. So try them out everyone.

I’d be so interested to know if you can buy Cravings by the case from the distributor or retailers even. Keep us updated you brave callers.

  98. I made the chocolate fix recipe from weight watchers given by Heather on 4/24/05, they were almost identical to Cravings, I put them in a 8×8 pan and put them in the freezer to chill they cut into 36 pieces for approx. 1/5 points and a whole lot cheaper and very easy to make. I cut the sugar down by 1/2 cup from Heather’s recipe.

  99. Someone asked if you can buy directly from cravings. I phoned and asked the same question, but they said that you can only buy from their distributors. I think it would be a breach of contract or somthing of that nature if they allowed just anybody to buy their cheesecakes/fixes/bars.

    Comment by melanie — 8/4/2005 @ 12:33 am

  100. Someone above said her retailer had quit carrying the chocolate mini-cheesecakes? WHY? They’re the absolute addictive best. Our Reid’s Dairy in Port Hope also carries the key lime and the strawberry, as well as the Chocolate Fixes (too much coconut for me.)

  101. I just tried the chocolate fix and they are fantastic. I’m near Belleville and find that you can find cravings at any I.G.A. They taste just like chocolate maccaroons. 102. The calories on the ones i have been purchasing have increased -so the different flavours do have different calories… some as high as 70 (not that its high but relative to the 56 we thought we were consuming)…. just thought i would let you all know…

    Comment by deb — 11/17/2005 @ 2:01 pm

  103. I bought the chesecakes with the new labels. I don’t find they are much different in Nutritional values. The old cheesecakes had 60g and the new ones 70g. I believe that accounts for the higher calories etc. Instead of doing a general label, the label is now representing each flavour on it’s own. It is still a great product and I can eat them, have a scrumptious dessert and still stick to my diet. The other great thing is that my daughter, when we go to Reid’s, asks for Cravings Cheesecakes instead of ice cream and I can actually let her have them because there is no artificial sugars in them. My daughter, 9, really loves them as well as myself.

  112. I don’t believe in promoting sales through blogs but I’m aware of many requests for Cravings products in Toronto/Mississauga and as a distributor for Cravings, I think I owe it to those people to let them know that both the cheesecakes and chocolate fixes have been available in the Toronto area for a couple of months. Sales in those stores have been surprisingly slow, in my opinion, so I think few consumers are aware that these stores carry the products. Since a Google search lists The Blog of Harald first and foremost, this seems to be the best method to get the word out. Here are the three newest venues: Beach IGA, 2040 Queen St.E., The Beaches (416) 694-3011; Thorncrest IGA, 1502 Islington Ave.(at Rathburn), Etobicoke (416)233-0621; Bruno’s Fine Foods, 4335 Bloor St.W.(corner of Mill Rd.), Etobicoke (416)626-9876. These last two stores are close to Mississauga.

  113. Wow!So many comments and great info. I just disovered Cravings Cheesecakes this week and Chocolate Fix. They were served at a function called Celebration of Life Awards Ceremony at the Halton Regional Center. There was a lovely display of food after this event and a whole section was filled with these desserts. Each one had a big label telling about each flavour.I am a Weight Watcher and my husband is a recent survivor of heart surgery so we were interested. We each tasted one and couldn’t believe the delicious flavour. We “took” a couple home and spent a lot of time today searching for a store that might sell them.We did go to Mary Lou’s Market in Burlington but didn’t see them so we will go back there. We will also check the Sobeys here in Oakville and I will tell the manager to get them if they don’t have them.I also plan to try the recipe.Thank you !!!! My Weight Watcher group may be onto them too. Norma 6/5/2006 8:15pm

    Comment by Norma Shatilla — 5/6/2006 @ 7:26 pm

  114. A comment to Norma that the Cravings products are available in Burlington at Zarky’s which is located just south west of Appleby and Upper Middle. They have all flavours and usually a good number in stock.

Also, I have made the recipe for the Chocolate Fix and to have a bar the same size as the Cravings Chocolate Fix (80g) following that recipe would be equal to 3.5 points per bar not 2 (and that was using low fat margarine instead of butter which makes a big difference to points). Out of that recipe, you can only get about 14 80g bars and the total points from all the ingredients is 48. It seems impossible to use this recipe to duplicate the 2 point 80g bars. You would have to cut the sugar in half, substitute low fat margarine and cut it in half and cut the oats in half to get it anywhere close to 2 points a bar and I have no idea how that would taste!

I really hope their labelling is correct!!

  117. ok ok ok…..I am on a strict low carb diet….only 20 grams or less….I can’t find anything but jello to have for dessert,:( So it would be nice if I could find out what the carb and fibre count is on these million dollar treats. I need the carb count and then i have to subtract the fibre count to come up with the NET carb amount. I think they should still make them with the crust…cause all that the carb counter has to do is not eat the crust…right. The only problem with that is that i don’t know how many carbs is in the crust and how many are in the filling so it would be hard to count,,,,can someone pretty please tell me with a cherry cheese cake on top.

  124. I found these at Dominion in Oakville at Neyagawa Blvd & Dundas St W
Maybe other stores of this chain will carry them…. They were located back with the regular frozen cheesecakes in the bakery section.

    Comment by Suanne — 7/19/2007 @ 7:48 am

  125. We have been buying them for awhile. For anyone who needs a chocolate fix, their product is great. The coconut and rolled oats help and fibre add sweetness. The Cravings products were not moving that quickly when they started selling them at the Dominion on Neyagawa and thought we were the only ones buying them, and they were not being replenished. A couple of weeks ago, we noticed they are starting to move and the store was running out. As we had spoken to the store manager in past and he told us to let him know if we ever needed anything, we caught him and told him how much we like these and why and that they were out. He ordered more in so they are stocked up again. The Dominion on Upper Middle in Oakville now also carries them. My mother-in-law also tried them when she was here and is taking some “empties” with the labels on them back with here to Winnipeg to talk to a few store managers in Dominion and Safeway in Winnipeg to ask them if they can start stocking them too.

  128. Thanks for all these comments everyone. I had seen these treats at the Dominion near by and was a little cautious. I finally bought them and found them to be delicious. Looks like they are safe too, judging from everyone’s comments. The Dominion in the Iona Plaza on Central Parkway (Mississauga) carries it.

  129. For you Mississaugians: You can buy them at Dominion at Southdown and Lakeshore Rd.

Diabetes doesn’t win this time! Usually low-sugar treats are full of artificial sweetners and preservatives leaving diabetics with a choice between two products that are harmful to our bodies (sugar or chemicals)… These are actually a treat I can eat without all of the junky additives and sugar substitutes.. but not affect my sugars too much – weeee!

  130. I tried this for the first time tonight and LOVE it. I’ve only tried the lemon one so far. (70 cal)
My fav treat is cheesecake so I wasn’t expecting to like it but thought I would give it a try and I’ll totally buy them weekly or so now :)

Location wise: I’m in Toronto (Yonge/Eglinton) and they’re in the cheesecake freezer at my local Dominion. They’re in small pudding cup-like containers with bright wrappers. Keep your eye out for them. Def worth it.

  135. Has anyone found a distributor for the Chocolate Fix in the St Catharines area?

  136. Just tried Cravings website and it is no longer in use. Anyone know why? I love these treats but they are getting too pricey at A&P’s here in Brampton where they are $1.89 now and increased several times over the last several months. They are also available at Molinaro’s Fine Italian Food at only $1.59 (or so) in south Mississauga so I try to buy them in bulk there now.

  139. My husband discovered these in Dominion about a year ago ($1.89 now and getting up there). I love him for it. I do find over the last couple months their quality control has been lacking. Got a bunch of chunky one’s a couple months ago and now we have a bunch of runny ones, very icky. We’re thinking we can make them ourselves as the ingredients are basic and put them into the mini Ziploc containers, which are the same size.
